Important Dates for your Puppy or Kitten

Puppy Care

• Vaccinations: 6 - 8 weeks, 10 - 12 weeks, 14 - 16 weeks.
• Intestinal Worming: 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 24 weeks then once every 3 months for life.
• Heartworm Prevention: Heartworm injection at 12 weeks, 6 months, 15 months and then yearly for life.
• Flea and Tick Prevention: Start an oral product at 8 weeks.

Kitten Care

• Vaccinations: F3 6 - 8 weeks and 10 - 12 weeks. FIV 6 - 8 weeks, 8 - 10 weeks, 10 - 12 weeks.
• Intestinal Worming: 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 24 weeks then once every 3 months for life.
• Flea and Tick Prevention: Start spot on product at 12 weeks.
• Heartworm Prevention: A monthly product is available for prevention of heartworm in cats, however it is not very common.

Desexing for Puppies and Kittens

Desexing is recommended at 6 months of age for both male and female puppies and kittens.

Microchipping

Microchipping for both puppies and kittens is recommended at 8 weeks of age and is a legal requirement prior to sale.

Equine Vaccinations

• Tetanus: From 3 months of age - 2 doses, 4 weeks apart. Then yearly boosters for life.
• Strangles: From 3 months of age - 3 doses, 2 weeks apart. Then yearly boosters for life. (If breeding or competing consult our clinic)
• Equine Herpes Virus: From 3 months of age - 2 doses, 4 weeks apart. Then yearly boosters for life. (If breeding consult our clinic)
• Hendra Virus: From 4 months of age - 2 doses, 3 - 6 weeks apart, followed by a 6 month booster. Then yearly for life.
